Seven Bulgarians in three sports will compete on Wednesday at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
Alpine skier Anina Zurbriggen will take part in the women’s slalom, with the first run starting at 11 a.m. on the Olympia delle Tofane course in Cortina d’Ampezzo. The second run is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
Mario Matikanov and Daniel Peshkov will start after 11:15 a.m. in the qualification round of the men’s team sprint in cross-country skiing (free technique) in Tesero. The finals are set for after 1:15 p.m.
Bulgaria’s women’s biathlon 4 x 6 km relay team, consisting of Lora Hristova, Milena Todorova, Maria Zdravkova, and Valentina Dimitrova, will compete with bib number 15. The race begins at 3:45 p.m. at the venue in Antholz-Anterselva.
In addition to the alpine skiing events, the women’s biathlon relay, and the men’s and women’s team sprint in cross-country skiing, four more sets of medals will be awarded on February 18 - in women’s freestyle skiing aerials, men’s snowboard slopestyle, and in short track speed skating in the women’s 3000 m relay and the men’s 500 m.
The day’s program also includes matches from the Olympic men’s and women’s curling tournaments, as well as the men’s ice hockey tournament.
