Ivaylo Ivanov, one of the six people who lost their lives in the Petrohan–Okolchitsa case, killed himself with two shots to the head. One gunshot wound had an entry point under the chin, and the other had an entry point at the left temple and an exit at the right, said Ivan Madzharov, Deputy Director of the General Directorate National Police, during a joint news conference of the Interior Ministry and the Prosecutors Office on Wednesday.

After the first shot, Ivanov remained conscious and still had voluntary control, while the second shot caused his death, explained Angel Papalezov, head of the Criminal Police Department at the General Directorate National Police.

In the case of another victim, Plamen Statev, death occurred after a shot fired with the muzzle pressed to the right temple. The exit wound was on the left, Madzharov said.

The death of Decho Vasilev was caused by a shot to the right temple that exited on the left.

Madzharov also presented part of the witness interviews in the case. The father of Nikolay Zlatkov stated that his son had not wanted to go to school because he had problems there. Nikolay had been moved between several different schools.

The father of Valeri Andreev said that his son had been left in the care of Ivaylo Kalushev, the owner of the Petrohan lodge, because the boy had been using marijuana and had taken a wrong path. Andreev's wife had withdrawn about EUR 750,000 from his bank accounts in order to finance Klaushev.

The headteacher of the private Cosmos School testified that Alexander Makulev had attended school rarely in the past two years, but his parents had always notified the school in advance, most often in writing. In the previous school year Makulev had 106 excused absences, and in the first term of the current school year he had 45.
