More than 350 boxers from 35 countries will take part in the 77th International Boxing Tournament Strandja 2026 in Sofia Hall.
Europe’s oldest international boxing tournament will officially kick off on February 23, at 6 p.m., with the finals scheduled for March 1.
Fans can expect to see numerous European, world, and Olympic medalists in action. Among the participating nations are Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, the United States, Ireland, Germany, England, Australia, Brazil, Wales, and Ukraine.
Bulgaria will field most of its top boxers. Nineteen athletes will compete in the men’s category, including four-time Strandja Cup champion Radoslav Rosenov, world silver medalist Rami Kiwan, multiple European youth champion William Cholov, as well as promising talents Victorio Iliev and Simeon Boldirev. In the women’s competition, Bulgaria will be represented by five boxers. Particular attention will be on last year’s champion Zlatislava Chukanova and Venelina Poptoleva, who will both compete in the 51 kg category.
“Traditionally, we are not disappointed, and the Strandja tournament remains the strongest in the world. Nearly 400 boxers from 35 countries will participate. This can only make us happy, as it reflects our professionalism and dedication,” Bulgarian Boxing Federation President Krasimir Ininski said at a press conference ahead of the tournament.
Tickets will be available both online and at the venue. Admission will be free for children and young people.
