Educational, cultural and health institutions in the village of Parkani, Transnistria have been provided with modern technology and medical equipment within the framework of a project financed by Bulgaria, as announced on the village's Facebook page on Tuesday.
According to the report, three schools, two kindergartens, the Sunday school at the church and the House of Culture have been equipped with modern technical means, and medical equipment has been purchased for the polyclinic in the settlement, including a gynaecological chair, a blood collection chair, a sterilizer, a gynaecological lamp, and a television set for the lobby. The municipality adds that the initiative is aimed at improving the educational, cultural and healthcare infrastructure.
The Bulgarian Embassy in Chisinau announced that the equipment was purchased with funds allocated by Bulgaria within the framework of the Programme for Support to Organizations of Bulgarian Communities in Moldova, Albania, Serbia, Kosovo, Ukraine and to Citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia with a Bulgarian identity. The total cost of the project amounts to EUR 17,250. "The current project is a continuation of the efforts to preserve and develop the Bulgarian identity among our compatriots in Transnistria. Support for the Bulgarian community in the region has been established as one of the leading priorities of the Bulgarian state and diplomatic representation over the past three years," the diplomatic mission stated.
In 2025, a Sunday school was opened at the Bulgarian Municipality of the village of Parkani, and training in Bulgarian language, history and traditions was introduced in local schools and kindergartens, funded under the National Programme "Native Language and Culture Abroad" of the Ministry of Education and Science of Bulgaria.
