site.btaBulgarian Cultural Institute in Budapest Launches New Monthly Feature "Faces"

A new monthly feature titled Faces was launched on the revamped website of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute (BCI) in Budapest, the Institute said on its Facebook page on Monday.

The feature will present people who have left their mark on the history and work of the Institute and contributed to the development of Bulgarian-Hungarian cultural ties. They include figures from the worlds of art, music, literature and culture whose stories deserve to be told and preserved.

The first edition of the feature, published in August, is dedicated to the memory of Hungarian musician, folklorist and educator Ferenc Sebő, who died in May this year.

For five decades, Sebő worked to bring Bulgarian and Hungarian folk music closer together. One of the landmark results of his long-standing work was the album Sokolova Pesen [Falcon's Song], released in 1984 with the support of the BCI in Budapest.

The story of Ferenc Sebő is featured in the first edition of Faces on the revamped website of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Budapest.
