site.btaBurgas Urban Life Showcased in Photo Exhibition at Bratislava International Airport

The "Burgas - Exciting and Artistic" collective photography exhibition, featuring 20 original photographs that capture the atmosphere and urban life of Burgas, opened on August 1 at Milan Rastislav Stefanik International Airport in Bratislava and will remain on display until the end of September, the Bulgarian Embassy in Slovakia told BTA.

The exhibition was organized at the initiative of the Embassy, the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Bratislava, with the support of Bratislava Airport, Burgas Municipality, the Society of Burgas Photographers, and BTA.

The photographs capture cultural events, holiday celebrations, festivals, sporting events, and moments from everyday life. They also feature locations associated with the development of Burgas as a tourist and cultural destination throughout the different seasons, the Embassy said.

The exhibition is being displayed at the airport during the peak tourist season. The initiative aims to promote the Bulgarian Black Sea coast among Slovak and international audiences not only as a destination for seaside tourism, but also as a place of culture, folklore, traditions, and sport.

Bratislava Airport has provided an opportunity for the exhibition to reach travellers, the diplomatic mission said. There is a seasonal direct air route between Bratislava and Burgas, which also contributes to the development of tourism and business ties between Bulgaria and Slovakia.

Burgas Municipality and photographers from the Photographers Society have displayed the exhibition outdoors in recent months.

The exhibition features photographs by Dimitrina Andreeva, Venelin Todorov, Georgi Ivanov, Zhecho Planinski, Stefka Delcheva, Tencho Petkov, and BTA photojournalist in Burgas Hristo Stefanov.

The exhibition is part of initiatives supporting Burgas' bid to become European Capital of Culture in 2032.
