Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Doncho Barbalov held a working meeting with representatives of a delegation from Czechia, discussing opportunities for deepening the partnership in the extractive and processing industries, the press centre of the line ministry said on Thursday. The meeting was attended by representatives of Bulgarian and Czech institutions involved in the energy and raw materials extraction sectors.
“Expanding and deepening cooperation in the trade, economic, and investment fields is in the interest of both countries and will contribute to creating and maintaining active links between representatives of Bulgarian and Czech businesses,” Barbalov said.
The discussions focused on the EU Regulation on critical raw materials and the strategic need for sustainable and diversified supplies of resources, which are key to the green and digital transformation.
“The exchange of experience between the two countries is extremely important for us,” added Eduard Municky, Czech Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Trade
During the meeting, opportunities for expert exchange, joint projects, and investments in the raw materials sector were also discussed.
Deputy Minister Barbalov thanked the Czech side for organizing the visit of Bulgarian experts to the Ministry of Economy and Trade and the Bilina mine, which he described as a valuable practical exchange and an opportunity to learn about established Czech practices.
Barbalov stressed the importance of continuing the dialogue and building sustainable partnerships between Bulgaria and Czechia.
