President Radev Offers Condolences after Lisbon Funicular Crash

Following the funicular crash in Lisbon, President Rumen Radev wrote on X: "On behalf of Bulgaria, I express our deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the funicular accident in Lisbon. My heartfelt condolences to the President of the Portuguese Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the families of the victims and the people of Portugal in this tragic time."

Portugal is holding a day of mourning for the victims of Wednesday's crash. Authorities report 17 dead and 21 injured.

No Bulgarian citizens have been reported injured, the Foreign Ministry in Sofia said on Thursday.
