The Electronic Governance Ministry has identified information systems, which cover financial data, and has prepared a methodology for their adaptation to the euro as early as 2024, e-Government Minister Valentin Mundrov said here on Thursday during an information event, part of the national information campaign for the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria.
"Thus, we have laid a solid foundation for the timely and high-quality implementation of the requirements set out in the Introduction of the Euro in the Republic of Bulgaria Act," he emphasized.
The Electronic Governance Ministry implements horizontal policies and supports everyone in the process of digital transformation of administrative bodies, Mundrov noted. "Our role in the introduction of the euro in the country is quite key, namely the coordination and control of the readiness of information systems in the state and local administration in order to ensure a smooth transition to the new currency," he noted.
"We live in a digital world, in which all systems must work together. Perhaps with the adoption of the euro, as all systems work together, an opportunity opens up for us to work with the whole world in the same way," the Minister pointed out.
