A demonstration of technologies to counter drone-related threats and respond to high-risk incidents was held Thursday at the Interior Ministry Academy. The goal was to showcase the level of preparedness, security technology solutions, and the coordination established between Interior Ministry structures and partner services in safeguarding public order and national security.

The event took place at the specially constructed training ground for future police officers and was attended by Interior Minister Daniel Mitov, along with members of the ministry’s political and professional leadership.

The demonstration featured officers from the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime, Special Operations and Counter-Terrorism Unit, and the National Service for Protection. Two scenarios were played out - locating and apprehending a drone operator attempting to transport an improvised explosive device and threatening a critical infrastructure site. The presentation also showcased the operation of both static and mobile anti-drone systems, as well as specialized equipment such as tasers and body cameras.

Attendees observed in real time how coordination between the various structures is carried out, the situational awareness platforms are used, along with the deployment of counter-drone systems and tools for neutralizing threats.
