According to expatriate organizations in the Istanbul area, around 4,000 people had voted by approximately 2:00 p.m.

A total of seven polling stations have been opened in the Istanbul region. Two of them are located at the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Istanbul. The remaining stations are in the districts of Avcilar, Bayrampasa, Bahcelievler, Esenyurt, and Gebze (Kocaeli).

The highest turnout so far has been in Avcilar, where 950 people have voted. This is followed by Esenyurt with 700 voters, and Gebze, on the Asian side of Istanbul, with another 700.

Around 680 people have voted in Bahcelievler, while approximately 590 have cast their ballots in Bayrampasa.

Turnout has been lower at the Consulate General, with about 300 voters.

Voting has proceeded normally across all locations.

Around midday, there was a noticeable increase in the number of young people arriving to vote in Avcilar.

Ahmet Selcuk Gok, chair of the local branch of the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) in Avcilar, visited the polling station in the district. Asked about the purpose of his visit, he said that many CHP members and supporters live in the Avcilar area. “I came to wish them success in the vote,” he said.
