The commercial register is fully ready for Bulgaria's accession to the eurozone, Justice Minister Georgi Georgiev said here Thursday during an information event, part of the National Information Campaign for the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria.
He noted that the turnover of tens of thousands of Bulgarian companies was written in leva until now, but from now on it will be written in euro. Bulgaria's admission to the eurozone means an opportunity for economic and price stability, and Plovdiv as an industrial face of Bulgaria has an exceptional benefit from this, Georgiev emphasized.
"When a foreign investor opens a factory in our country, it becomes a Bulgarian investor because it provides jobs for highly qualified Bulgarian citizens, which is a way to stop the brain drain from Bulgaria," the Minister stressed. He pointed out that preventing unscrupulous speculators from burdening Bulgarian citizens is a main task for the Government during the period of the introduction of the euro.
"This does not mean that we will interfere in the market economy or regulate prices, but an adequate coordination and coordination mechanism between the National Revenue Agency, the Consumer Protection Commission and all relevant authorities, so as to monitor what is happening in the market, and to give a clear signal that no one should even think of inflating prices unreasonably beyond normal market practices," he stated.
