A new media project aimed at preserving and promoting the rights of national minorities is being launched in Bosilegrad. The initiative is implemented by the Bosilegrad broadcaster with support from the Budget Fund for National Minorities of Serbia’s Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue for 2025.
With funding of 500,000 dinars, the project seeks to create space for public discussion on key issues related to the exercise of minority rights at the local level. Core topics include education in one’s mother tongue, the official use of minority languages and scripts, the role of culture for young people, and questions of national identity in contemporary society.
The project will be carried out through six one-hour thematic radio programs, airing between January and June 2026 on Radio Bosilegrad and the outlet’s official website. The broadcasts will feature institutional representatives, education and culture experts, journalists, and civic activists, and will also address challenges in interethnic dialogue and examples of good cooperation among minority communities in the region.
