Bulgaria’s women’s badminton team qualified for the final of the European Team Championship in Istanbul, Turkiye, after a strong 3-1 victory over host nation Turkiye in the semifinals.

Led by captain Petya Nedelcheva, the Bulgarian team will face Denmark in Sunday's match.

This marks Bulgaria’s third medal in the history of the women’s team event and the first in ten years, following silver in 2016 and bronze in 2014. The result also secures the team’s spot at the Women’s World Team Championship in Denmark at the end of April.

In the singles matches, Kaloyana Nalbantova defeated Neslihan Aran 22-20, 16-21, 21-10 in a 1 hour 12 minute contest, followed by Stefani Stoeva overcoming Ozge Bayrak 21-7, 21-18 in 39 minutes.

In the third singles match, Gergana Pavlova lost to Zehra Erdem 17-21, 21-19, 10-21.

Bulgaria clinched victory in the doubles, with European champions Stefani and Gabriela Stoeva defeating Bengisu Ercetin and Nazlican Inci 21-15, 21-15 in 41 minutes to secure the 3-1 win.
