Six Bulgarians in three sports will participate in Saturday's competitions from the programme of the Winter Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina.
The first of the national team members to start will be alpine skier Kalin Zlatkov, who will compete in the giant slalom in Bormio. The first run is at 11:00 a.m., and the second starts at 2:30 p.m.
After 3:00 p.m. in Antholz-Anterselva, the four biathletes Maria Zdravkova, Lora Hristova, Milena Todorova, and Valentina Dimitrova will compete in the 7.5 km sprint. Expectations for a strong performance are high after Hristova won bronze in the 15 km individual event on February 11.
At 7:45 p.m. on the large hill in Predazzo, ski jumper Vladimir Zografski will compete with the ambition to improve his ranking from the normal hill event, where he finished 32nd.
In addition to the three sports with Bulgarian participation, five more sets of medals will be awarded on Saturday: in the women's parallel giant slalom freestyle skiing competition, in the cross-country skiing women's 4 x 7.5km relay, the men's 500-metre speed skating, the women's skeleton, and the men's 1,500-metre short track speed skating.
The programme also includes competitions in women's freestyle skiing in the big air discipline, as well as men's and women's curling tournaments and men's and women's ice hockey tournaments.
