site.btaBlagoy Todev Achieves Bulgaria's Best Result at Milano Cortina Biathlon 10km Sprint
Blagoy Todev delivered the best performance among the four Bulgarian biathletes in the men’s 10 km sprint on Friday at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. He finished 42nd in 25:23.6 minutes, after missing one shot in his first standing shooting stage.
Winter Olympics debutant Konstantin Vasilev, 22, placed 56th with a time of 25:52.3 minutes. He made four shooting errors, all in the standing position.
Todev and Vasilev will compete in the 12.5 km pursuit on Sunday at 12:15 p.m., as the top 60 from Friday’s race advance to the event.
The 38-year-old Vladimir Iliev, competing at his fifth Winter Olympics, finished 70th in 26:17.8 minutes, also with four misses — two in each shooting stage.
Anton Sinapov placed 82nd in 27:04.4 minutes, with three misses, all from the standing position.
France’s Quentin Fillon Maillet claimed the title with a flawless shooting performance and a winning time of 22:53.1 minutes.
