Bulgaria achieved its second victory in the group stage and secured a medal at the 2026 European Men’s and Women's Team Badminton Championships held in Istanbul, Turkiye, on February 11-15.

The national team defeated Czechia 4-1 in their last match in Group 2. In the first two singles matches, Kaloyana Nalbantova defeated Tereza Svabikova 21-12, 21-14 in 33 minutes, and Stefani Stoeva triumphed over Petra Maixnerova 21-15, 21-19 in 37 minutes.

In the doubles, Nalbantova and Gabriela Stoeva won against Maixnerova and Svabikova 21-18, 21-13 in 31 minutes on the court, while Tsvetina Popivanova and Stefani Stoeva defeated Klara Silhava and Radka Silhava 21-18, 21-17 in 32 minutes.

Only Gergana Pavlova lost against Lucie Krulova in a close match 21-18, 10-21, 23-25 in 69 minutes.

Led by coach Petya Nedelcheva-Hranova, the Bulgarian players finished second in the standings with two wins and one defeat. The hosts from Turkiye are in first place with three wins, followed by France 1-2 and the Czech Republic 0-3.

In Saturday's semifinals, Bulgaria will once again face hosts Turkiye, whom they met in the group stage. The winners of the two matches will compete for the title, while the losers will receive bronze medals.
