An incident that caused the injury of two workers at the Arsenal Weapons Plant on Thursday. One of the workers has since passed away, the Stara Zagora Prosecutor's Office confirmed to BTA. The 46-year-old man died several hours after the accident while undergoing surgery at the hospital.
The other injured worker, aged 56, is in hospital with injuries and damaged hearing.
An investigation into the workplace accident will be conducted by the District Prosecutor's Office in Stara Zagora. The pre-trial proceedings, which until now have been conducted under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office, will be converted into an investigation case for causing death due to ignorance or negligent performance of a job or other legally regulated activity that poses an increased risk, the prosecution service said.
The accident occurred at 10:30 am on Thursday in a workshop at a weapons factory during repair work on a nitroglycerin centrifuge separator. No fire broke out in the room and no material damage was caused.
