Bulgarian Olympic Committee President-elect Vesela Lecheva congratulated Bulgaria's snowboarders following their success at the World Cup in Bansko.

“Magnificent victory for Tervel Zamfirov and third place for Radoslav Yankov at the Bansko World Cup! The Bulgarians are dominating world snowboarding just three weeks before the start of the Winter Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina 2026. The podium finish of Tervel and Rado today is yet another proof that our team is championship-level, and we can dream even bigger," Lecheva said.

"All four of our snowboarders with quotas for Milan-Cortina – Rado, Tervel, Alexander, and Malena – have recorded top-3 finishes this season, which is an incredible achievement," she added. 

"Congratulations to the prize-winners, their coaches, and the Ski Federation for the perfectly organized competition. We never stop dreaming!” commented Vesela Lecheva.

Next week, the Bulgarian delegation for the Winter Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina will be determined. In snowboarding, Bulgaria has four quotas – for Radoslav Yankov, for whom this will be his fourth Olympics, as well as for the debutants Tervel Zamfirov, Alexander Krushniak, and Malena Zamfirova.
