Russian forces struck port infrastructure in Odesa region on the first day of the new year, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba said on Telegram.

Port facilities were damaged during a nighttime drone attack. There were no casualties, Kuleba noted.

Quays and equipment were damaged at the port of Izmail. Port equipment, transport, and other infrastructure facilities were also damaged at the port of Odesa, he added.

Specialized services and rescue workers are working on the ground to address the aftermath of the attack.

"Despite the enemy attacks, the ports remain operational, and Ukraine continues to fulfill its commitments to export food products and ensure the functioning of its logistics infrastructure," Kuleba said.
