site.btaTurkish Gendarmerie Nets 346 in Anti-Drug Raids Across Five Provinces
Turkish Gendarmerie carried out a large-scale operation against drug trafficking in Bursa, Adana, Balikesir, Nevsehir and Canakkale on Saturday.
A total of 346 people were detained and drugs, weapons and equipment were seized, Haberler.com wrote.
During searches at 93 different locations, officers seized 83,625 narcotic tablets and 11 kg of various drugs, as well as unlicensed revolvers, hunting rifles and various devices, including scales.
The operation was coordinated by the chief public prosecutor’s offices in the five provinces and the anti-narcotics directorates at the Gendarmerie General Command.
A total of 635 gendarmerie officers took part, including 108 public security teams and 14 commando teams, as well as 13 specially trained drug detection dogs.
