The Bulgarian Social Democracy – EuroLeft party has decided to take part in the April 19 snap parliamentary elections in coalition with BSP – United Left. The decision was adopted at the party’s national conference held in Sofia on Saturday.
The party also resolved that it “highly values” the participation of former president Rumen Radev in the upcoming elections and regards him as a possible coalition partner after the April vote.
"Our goal is for the political entity around [former] president Rumen Radev and BSP-United Left to form the foundation of a future governing majority," Alexander Tomov, chairperson of Bulgarian Social Democracy – EuroLeft, said at the start of the conference.
Addressing participants in the event, Bulgarian Socialist Party leader Krum Zarkov said: "I expect your proposals regarding the economic platform. There is much work ahead, and as BSP leader I want to tell you that I am confident this work can be successfully accomplished only if we do it together."
The party also adopted key principles of an economic development programme for the country, which is to be circulated among all coalition partners.
