site.btaDimitar Iliev: Minister of Youth and Sports

Dimitar Iliev is nominated for Minister of Youth and Sports in the Gurov caretaker Cabinet. 

He held the same position in the Nikolay Denkov government (June 2023 - March 2024).

Born on August 2, 1975. Eight-times rally champion of Bulgaria and the only Bulgaria to have won Rally Bulgaria three times. Puts an end to his sports career in 2013 and becomes lecturer in automobile and motorcycle sport at the Vassil Levski National Sports Academy.

He is an expert in road safety and has made it his personal cause.  He founded an academy for safe driving that trains over 2,000 persons annually. A nature lover, who often engages in outdoor activities in the mountains.

Speaks English, German and Spanish.
