Romania's annual inflation rate fell to 4.86% in March 2025 from 5.02% in February, according to data released on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics.

Food goods rose by 5.10%, non-food goods by 3.84%, and services by 6.99%.

The year-to-date inflation rate (March 2025 compared to December 2024) was 2.1%.

The National Bank of Romania revised upwards to 3.8% from the previous 3.5% its inflation forecast for the end of 2025. It is projected to reach 3.1% at the end of 2026, Digi24 reported, citing data presented by the bank's Governor, Mugur Isarescu.

According to the main scenario of the macroeconomic forecast, the annual inflation rate will continue to fluctuate in the first half of this year.
