No Unpaid Funds to Municipalities, Regional Minister Todorova-Boneva Says

Caretaker Regional Minister Angelina Todorova-Boneva said on Tuesday that the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works has no unpaid funds to municipalities and that over BGN 750 million have been paid out to municipalities in 2025. She spoke at the 39th General Assembly of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria.

Todorova-Boneva announced that a total of 20 experts in her ministry are working on 3,100 applications for payments to municipalities in the country. According to her, the teams have done their job to the extent they could and she emphasized that she awaits the proposals of the mayors in the country for improvements in joint work.

She said that so far in her term, her priorities as a minister have been the budget for the upcoming snap parliamentary elections and the state's extended budget. She added that after tomorrow, she would begin tackling her third priority - the municipalities.
