The world's taekwondo elite will gather in Sofia for the latest edition of the Bulgaria Open G2 international  tournament between February 27 February and March 1 at Arena 8888. More than 2,500 competitors from around the world are expected to participate, making the event stronger than a world championship in terms of participation.

The tournament will be held under the patronage of Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova.

The tournament will open officially on February 28. Special guests will include some of Bulgaria's most distinguished athletes, who have represented the country at the highest international sporting events. Numerous diplomats and political and business elite representatives are expected to attend.

Bulgaria's top taekwondo athletes from the national team will compete at Bulgaria Open 2026, testing their skills against the world's best. The Bulgarian Taekwondo Federation is preparing special surprises, with the winners of the Royal Kids Open Championships set to receive special awards.

Bulgaria Open 2026 Programme:

February 27: Sparring (men and women);
February 28: Sparring (cadets and juniors);
March 1: Poomse and Royal Cup (children's tournament - Sparring, Poomse, fast punches with hands and feet).
