Navy specialists have completed the survey of the fishing vessel BH 8112, which sank in the Black Sea, the Defence Ministry press service said here on Tuesday.

A site inspection earlier in the day confirmed Monday’s findings: the fishing vessel’s hull remains intact, with no damage or signs of impact. The crew members’ bodies have not been recovered.

All materials from the inspections must be submitted to the National Board for the Investigation of Accidents in Air, Water and Rail Transport, the Defence Ministry press service added.

The vessel survey involved diving teams from the Flotilla of Combat and Auxiliary Vessels, Naval Base Varna, and Naval Base Burgas. The teams used specialized equipment, including an SRS Fusion remotely operated underwater vehicle.

On 18 February, the Ministry of Transport reported an incident involving the fishing vessel BH 8112 in Bulgarian waters after radar contact was lost. The vessel was last known to be in the Maslen Nos area, with three people on board. On 20 February, the Ministry of Defence reported that the vessel had been found sunk in the same area off the southern section of Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast.
