Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkiye continues to set new records in defence technology exports, noting that in 2025 exports increased by 48% compared with 2024, exceeding revenue of USD 10 billion.

"In 2002, they amounted to only USD 248 million. We currently rank 11th in the world in defence technology exports. If we reach our target of USD 11 billion in exports by 2028, we hope to rise to 10th place globally," Erdogan said in a speech broadcast live on his official social media accounts during a ceremony marking the expansion of the capacity of state-owned defence company HAVELSAN.

The Turkish President recalled that by the end of 2023 Ankara’s defence industry projects had reached a total value of USD 100 billion, with more than 1,400 projects underway. He said that investment in young people, confidence in national capabilities and a determined policy in this sector had been key to the success achieved so far.

Erdogan also reflected on the state of HAVELSAN 22 years ago, when, according to him, the company felt dependent on foreign firms and overseas simulation platforms. "Today, however, we are able to conduct simulations through local and national platforms, and manage critical moments through our own software and engineers," he said.

He added that HAVELSAN continues to develop major projects, including a cloud-based system that will enable the Turkish Armed Forces to manage their operations in real time.
