Caretaker Finance Minister Georgi Klisurski, on Tuesday, told the delegates of the 39th General Assembly of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB) that the second budget extension law we will be submitted to the Council of Ministers on Wednesday.

He said that since it is unclear what kind of recess Parliament will take before March 19, the government has decided to table the extension law on Wednesday so that it can be adopted before that date.

Klisurski added that the main thing that will be changed is the extension law’s period of validity. It will no longer run until March 31, but until the adoption of a new regular budget for 2026. According to Klisurski, this approach will prevent uncertainty under various scenarios, whether a governing majority is formed or if new elections are held.
