President of the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria Solomon Passy and President of PanEuropa Bulgaria Gergana Passy took part in the International Pan-European Conference "The European Future of the Western Balkans: Political Integration, Regional Cooperation and Economic Resilience in times of Global Challenges", held in Skopje on February 20-22, PanEuropa Bulgaria said here Monday.
Gergana Passy was a key panelist in the second discussion session, titled “EU Enlargement and Stability: How to Proceed with the Western Balkans?”. She outlined Bulgaria’s position on the need to accelerate, while maintaining a principled, merit-based, and criteria-driven approach to the European integration of the region’s countries.
In her speech, she highlighted the importance of political will, the rule of law, and an engaged civil society as key drivers of sustainable European progress in the Western Balkans.
During the conference, Solomon and Gergana Passy met with the President of North Macedonia, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova.
Siljanovska-Davkova was presented with the honorary plaque of the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria, accompanied by a symbolic Trabant, an emblem of Bulgaria’s Euro-Atlantic integration. The Trabant, a widely recognized symbol of Bulgaria’s path to NATO and the European Union, represents the country’s transition from division to full membership in the Euro-Atlantic community.
The gesture conveys respect and support for North Macedonia’s European perspective and for efforts to strengthen good-neighborly relations and regional cooperation, PanEuropa Bulgaria said.
