Three Bulgarian cultural events are due to take place in March in Alicante, Spain, the Spirit of Bulgaria Association said in a Facebook post on Sunday.

The association said the programme will take place over three consecutive Sundays: a Bulgarian gathering in Benidorm on March 1, a screening of the Bulgarian feature film One Gram of Life on March 8, and a performance of No Warranty on March 15.

“March is set to be a Bulgarian month for us, and over three consecutive Sundays we will enjoy cultural events celebrating Bulgaria,” the association said.

The post said the first event is the fifth edition of the Bulgarian gathering in Benidorm, which will take place on March 1 at Plaza de la Cala. It is organized by the Bulgari-Costa Blanca Folklore Group in Benidorm.

On March 8 the Bulgarian feature film One Gram of Life will be screened at Cines Axion. Its screenplay is based on real stories from the national parental initiative One Gram of Life, founded by Mariela Kirova and Kalin Teoshanov, which aims to prevent addiction and raise awareness among children and young people.

Actors Stefaniya Koleva and Deyan Angelov will stage their play No Warranty for the Bulgarian community in Alicante on March 15. The performance will be held at Calle Andalucía 20.

The Spirit of Bulgaria Association in Alicante aims to promote Bulgarian culture and spirituality in Spain. The Bulgarian Sunday School Slovo also operates under the association, giving children from the Bulgarian community in Alicante and the surrounding area the opportunity to study the Bulgarian language, Bulgarian history and geography, and learn about Bulgarian traditions and folklore.
