The search-and-rescue operation for seafarers missing from a vessel that sank in the Black Sea on Tuesday following a drone attack has ended without finding any of them, Rumen Nikolov, head of Emergency and Rescue Operations at the Maritime Administration Executive Agency, told journalists on Wednesday.

The operation was terminated at 5 p.m. on Tuesday and will not be resumed, Nikolov said. No trace of the missing seafarers has been found.

The crew rescued from the other vessel attacked in the incident remains in Varna.

Two merchant vessels were attacked by sea and aerial drones in Bulgaria's exclusive economic zone in the Black Sea on Tuesday.
