By order of Prime Minister Andrey Gurov, effective February 23, 2026, Victor Stoyanov has been appointed Deputy Minister of Culture. He is taking up the post for the third time, having previously served in 2014 and again in 2023 and 2024, the press centre of the Ministry of Culture said here on Monday.
Victor Stoyanov was born on November 6, 1977, in Sofia. He graduated in Piano and Music Theory from the Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music and Virtual Musical Technologies and a Master’s degree in History of Philosophy from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski.
From 1995 to 2011, Stoyanov worked as a music designer at Alexandra Audio Studio, contributing to projects for leading film studios such as The Walt Disney Company, DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures, among others. He has extensive professional experience as a composer, arranger and sound designer in film music, game music, advertising, television programmes and theatre productions. His successful collaborations with leading studios and composers in Bulgaria and Europe have earned him numerous nominations and awards.
As a concert pianist, Victor Stoyanov has won a number of prestigious international awards.
Between 2014 and 2016, he served as Director of the Sofia Philharmonic.
He is a recipient of the honorary “Ambassador of Libraries” award presented by the Bulgarian Library and Information Association.
