“Bulgaria must help Ukraine to continue its counter-offensive and to liberate its occupied territories,” Defence Minister Todor Tagarev said on Tuesday at the official ceremony where he took office. This would be done within the framework of the union decisions and with strict implementation of the National Assembly decisions, he added.

In his words, efforts should be continued in strengthening the country's defence capabilities.

Tagarev will also address the issue of civil-military relations. In his opinion, it is particularly evident that there are serious challenges in ensuring democratic civil-military relations.

Tagarev stated that he would present his team and the ministry's priorities in the coming days.
