Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov was warmly welcomed by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof on Wednesday. Zhelyazkov heads the Bulgarian delegation at the NATO summit in The Hague, where key issues for the alliance are to be discussed.
This year's summit meeting aims to send out the unconditional message of a stronger and united alliance that has the necessary capabilities to protect its citizens and deter any threat to Euro-Atlantic security.
The Bulgarian delegation in The Hague includes Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev, Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov, Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Eftimov, as well as representatives of the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Defence.
Before the summit meeting, the Prime Minister met the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatovic. “As a NATO ally, Bulgaria continues to support the enlargement of the EU with the Western Balkan countries. Together with the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatovic,” the Bulgarian Prime Minister wrote on the social platform X.
