site.btaBulgarian Olympic Committee President Lecheva to Participate in Olympic Summit in Switzerland


At the invitation of the International Olympic Committee and President Thomas Bach, Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC) President Vessela Lecheva, will participate in the Olympism365 Summit: Sport for a Better World Summit which will be held from June 3 to 5 in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The first-of-its-kind event will be attended by over 250 sports leaders from more than 100 organizations, all personally invited. For the first time in history, leading participants in the Olympic movement, representatives of the UN, as well as businesses related to the development of sustainable sport will gather in one place.
In Lausanne, newly elected BOC President Vesela Lecheva will have a series of meetings at the IOC Olympic House, and then participate in the discussions during the forum.
Over the course of three days, the summit will showcase best practices and the collective impact of sport and will conclude with decisions for specific actions. The main topics to be discussed include strengthening the role of sport in building healthier, fairer and more sustainable communities through policies, cooperation and innovation, as well as modern financing and capacity building to strengthen sport and development initiatives.
Vesela Lecheva was elected as the President of the BOC on 19 March 2025. On 17 May 2025, the International Olympic Committee recognised her and the new BOC Executive Board, and the change in the leadership of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee was updated in the databases of the International Olympic Committee, the European Olympic Committee and the Association of National Olympic Committees.
