Trading on the Sofia Commodity Exchange between Christmas and New Year focused mainly on energy products, Sofia Commodity Exchange said in its bulletin on Saturday.

It covered the period from December 22 to 30, 2025, noting that while most international exchanges were inactive during the holidays, transactions in Sofia also included timber and chemicals.

The analysis attributed the trading pattern to the cold season, noting that traders shifted their focus to winter-related goods and that transactions were concentrated primarily in energy products, timber, and chemicals.

Exchange-traded gas oil for steam-boiler installations was priced at EUR 922.37-1,145.97 per 1,000 l, propane-butane at EUR 465.28-485.73 per 1,000 l, and heating oil at EUR 1,052.87 per 1,000 l.

Firewood was purchased at EUR 76.69 per cubic metre, and softwood sawlogs at EUR 82.32-104.30 per cubic metre. Donbas-type coal was priced at EUR 409.03 per tonne, while wood pellets traded at EUR 332.34 per tonne. AdBlue was traded at EUR 1,861.10 per 1,000 l, brake fluid at EUR 5,112.92-7,832.99 per 1,000 l, and greases at EUR 4.26-5.11 per kg. In the metals segment, ferrous scrap was sold at EUR 81.81-107.37 per tonne, Sofia Commodity Exchange said.
