site.btaItalian Woman Charged with Stealing EUR 4,200 Worth of Goods from Sofia Airport Shop
The Sofia Regional Prosecution Office brought charges against a woman with Italian citizenship for stealing items from a shop at Sofia Vasil Levski Airport, the prosecution service said on Wednesday.
The evidence collected so far indicates that between November 24, 2025, and January 19, 2026, in the course of a continued offence involving five acts, the accused, with name initials V. T., stole jewellery, underwear and cosmetics worth EUR 4,193.50 from a shop at Terminal 2 of Bulgaria's main international airport.
Pretrial proceedings are underway for an offence under the Criminal Code, which carries a penalty of imprisonment.
V. T. has no address of residence in Bulgaria. In view of the possibility that she may abscond, she has been detained for up to 72 hours by order of the supervising prosecutor.
A request will be submitted to the Sofia Regional Court for the accused to be remanded in custody, the press release said.
