site.btaTurkish Truck Driver Arrested in Ruse for Not Declaring Over EUR 100,000
A truck driver has been arrested at the Danube Bridge border crossing checkpoint near Ruse and is accused of failing to declare more than EUR 100,000 in cash, the Customs Agency said on Monday.
The driver, a Turkish national, only declared cash in the amount of EUR 20,000, but customs inspectors found that three packages of euro banknotes during an inspection of the truck. The inspectors seized the money and detained the truck driver a period of up to 72 hours.
The investigation into the case is ongoing.
