site.btaSofia Mayor Announces New Strategic Projects Department, Key Priority Projects of Municipality

Sofia Mayor Vassil Terziev announced the creation of the Strategic Projects Department and approved a list of key priority projects and within the new organizational structure of the municipal administration, the municipal press centre said on Monday.

The Municipality pointed out that among the approved key projects are initiatives in the field of urban infrastructure, transport, education and digitalization of services, adding that the goal is to accelerate the implementation of priority infrastructure and social projects, as well as to improve interaction between various directorates and external partners.

"The creation of the Strategic Projects Department is part of a broader reform of the administrative structure, aimed at increasing the efficiency, transparency and accountability in the work of the Municipality", the press centre noted.

The new management structure of Sofia Municipality was introduced on February 1 as part of a reform, which will also see the creation of the Urban Planning and Development Department and the Security Department, as well as new Education, Sports and Youth Activities Department.
