Bulgarian dams are 76.42% full and there are no uncontrolled overflows, the Ministry of Environment and Water reported on Monday. According to the data, the amount of available stored volumes in the complex reservoirs is 4,994.9 million cubic metres, which represents 76.42% of their total volume.

The reservoirs "Srechenska Bara", "Hristo Smirnenski", "Kamchia", "Yasna Polyana", "Asenovets", "Borovitsa", "Studena", "Domlyan", "Topolnitsa", "Pchelina", "Alexander Stamboliyski", "Koprinka", "Vacha", "Krichim" and the reservoirs of the "Arda" cascade are over 90% full.

The dams of the Arda cascade, as well as the Krichim dam and the Vacha dam, are conducting high surges under controlled conditions. Preventive releases to ensure free volumes are carried out at the Trakiets dam and the Koprinka dam.

According to data from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, river levels in the country are stabilizing, with no significant changes expected in the coming days. Forecasts for March are for precipitation around and below the climatic norm, which does not imply a permanent continuation of the intense precipitation from February, the ministry said.

The ministry also reminds local authorities to implement the measures provided for in the Flood Risk Management Plans 2022-2027 and to monitor current hydrometeorological information and forecasts for dangerous phenomena published on the official website of the ministry.
