site.btaBulgarian President to Meet Counterpart in Day Two of His Visit to Germany

President Rumen Radev will meet with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier on Thursday as part of his two-day visit to the country. The one-on-one meeting will take place at Bellevue Palace in Berlin.

The two heads of state spoke at the Berlin presidential residence in May 2022, after Steinmeier made an official visit to Bulgaria in April 2019 at the invitation of his Bulgarian counterpart.

The prospects for economic cooperation between the two countries are expected to be among the topics discussed at the meeting.

On Wednesday, Radev attended the opening of a high-tech ammunition factory owned by the German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall in Lower Saxony. The German company plans to make a joint investment with the Bulgarian Government in two factories in Bulgaria - one for shells and one for gunpowder, with an expected investment of over EUR 1 billion.
