National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova congratulated Karlos Nasar on winning his third world title at the World Weightlifting Championships held in Forde, Norway, the Parliament’s press office said on Friday.
“Your performance at the most prestigious forum for weightlifters once again united millions of Bulgarians in front of their TV screens and filled our hearts with genuine joy and pride,” Kiselova said in her congratulatory message.
She noted that she had followed Nasar’s performance with excitement and admired his determination, willpower, and composure, which earned him not only the title but also a new world record in the clean and jerk.
"You have won three world titles in three different weight categories - proof of your hard work and dedication to the sport," Kiselova wrote. "Despite the challenges during the competition, your intense training, focus, and confidence in yourself and your team led you to the gold."
"Continue to win with the same confidence and resolve, to conquer the highest sporting peaks, and to remain an inspiration to us all," the Parliament Chair concluded.
On Thursday, Karlos Nasar claimed his third world championship gold, this time in the 94 kg category. After a shaky start that left him fourth after the snatch, he dominated the clean and jerk with successful lifts of 210 kg, 219 kg, and a world-record 222 kg, finishing with a total of 395 kg.
