site.btaWorld Bank Lowers Economic Growth Forecast for Bulgaria for 2025, 2026


The World Bank has lowered its forecast for Bulgaria's economic growth for this and next year. The assessment is part of the international financial institution's regular analysis, which is released every six months and is entitled “Global Economic Prospects”.
The current edition states that in 2025 this country's GDP will grow by 2%, after registering a growth of 2.8% in 2024. Compared to the expectations featured in the January edition, the World Bank has reduced its forecast by 0.8%.
For 2026, the Washington-based financial institution expects the Bulgarian economy to expand by 2.2% instead of 2.7%, which was expected in January.
The World Bank forecast this country's economic growth for 2027 to be 2.4%.
