The 2025 summer tourist season in the coastal resort town of Pomorie indicated a change in the structure and preferences of tourists, according to the municipality's analysis, which was presented here on Wednesday.

The analysis, based on data from the Unified Tourist Information System of the Tourism Ministry, showed that more tourists preferred mid-range hotels and family accommodations, which indicates a trend towards a more sustainable tourism model, focused on comfort, accessibility and longer stays, the municipal administration emphasized. Although Bulgarians made up the main share of tourists, Pomorie saw an increase in guests from Germany, Poland and Slovakia during the summer, with only tourists from Romania being less than in previous years, as they are increasingly showing a preference for the northern Black Sea coast. The Municipality pointed out that although overnight stays of Ukrainian citizens increased by 36%, a large part of them are temporary residents and refugees accommodated in Pomorie under EU funded programmes.

The analysis concluded that the 2025 summer tourist season in Pomorie was marked not so much by an increase in the number of guests as by stability and diversification, noting that revenue from the tourist tax increased by nearly 37%. Thus, Pomorie Municipality defined the 2025 season as one of the most successful in recent years, not least because the number of overnight guests increased by over 10% compared to 2024, and the number of overnight stays increased by nearly 11%.
