In the fourth quarter of 2025 the number of newly built residential buildings was 1,809, and the newly built homes in them were 8,027, according to preliminary data from the National Statistical Institute, published on their website on Friday.
In the fourth quarter of 2025, 70.5% of the newly built residential buildings had steel-concrete construction, 24.2% had solid structure, 4.9% had other and 0.4% had a panel construction. The highest was the relative share of newly built houses (78.9%), followed by blocks of flats (15.3%).
The highest is the number of residential buildings built in Sofia city - 284 residential buildings with 2,821 dwellings, followed by the regions of Plovdiv - 239 residential buildings with 866 dwellings, and Sofia - 194 buildings with 304 homes.
National Statistical Institute data shows that last year the number of newly built residential buildings was 1,052, and the newly built homes in them were 4,086. The largest share of newly built houses (77.2%) and blocks of flats (15.9%), and most residential buildings were built in the regions of Sofia city - 163 buildings with 1,341 homes, Plovdiv - 135 buildings with 418 dwellings, and Varna - 130 buildings with 517 homes.
At the end of 2025, the highest is the number of newly built homes with two rooms (39.9%), followed by the number of those with three rooms (31.7%), and the lowest is the number of homes with six and more rooms (4.9%). At the beginning of 2025, two-room homes held the highest share (38.1%), followed by three-room homes (37.8%), while one-room homes had the lowest share (2.8%).
In the fourth quarter of 2025, the largest average living floor space of a newly built home was recorded in the regions of Silistra - 132.8 sq. m, and Pernik - 130.7 sq. m, and the smallest ones - in Vidin - 45.3 sq. m, and Targovishte - 52.7 square meters. At the beginning of 2025, the largest average living floor space was registered in the regions of Vidin (151.8 sq. m) and Kardzhali (120.9 sq. m), and the smallest in the regions of Pleven (45.8 sq. m) and Razgrad (47.5 sq. m).
