site.btaCentral Bank Governor Radev Nominates Karina Karaivanova as Deputy Governor in Charge of Bank's Issue Department

The Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB), Dimitar Radev, has nominated Karina Karaivanova as Deputy Governor of the BNB and head of its Issue Department, the central bank said on its website here on Wednesday. 

Karaivanova has many years of professional experience in public finance and the financial sector. 

She has held senior positions at the Ministry of Finance, including deputy minister of finance, served as chairperson of the Financial Supervision Commission, and currently represents Bulgaria on the Board of Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. 

The procedure was launched after the former BNB Deputy Governor in charge of the Issue Department, Andrey Gurov, resigned from the post and became caretaker Prime Minister. 

Parliament has already adopted the procedural rules for the election of a BNB Deputy Governor.
