There must be confidence that cultural heritage can be profitable, said Prof. Svetla Dimitrova, Chair of the Bulgarian National Committee of the International Council of Museums. She participated at an event here on Friday dedicated to the vision for the development of cultural tourism in Bulgaria.

Dimitrova appealed to the directors of museums to be bolder. "If you build cafes and renovate your exhibitions, you will attract many more people", she stressed.

She stated that Bulgaria must show that it is the only country in the world that has an uninterrupted continuity in its cultural and historical heritage and wealth. "Only by measuring ourselves against world experience can we survive and truly show that Bulgaria is one of the countries richest in cultural and historical heritage in the world", Dimitrova pointed out.
