Just participating here is a victory! I am more excited than when I was an athlete myself. Good luck, wonderful Bulgarian athletes!” Lecheva wrote on Facebook.

Later Friday, Lecheva shared that competing at the Olympics is the most thrilling moment for any athlete and the most grand sporting event in the world.

Bulgaria will be represented by 20 athletes across six sports.
