"Even the most seemingly noble initiative cannot justify the violation of the Constitution and the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union," President Rumen Radev told journalists on the occasion of criticism of his decision to appeal to the Constitutional Court over introduction of gas transmission fee.

"Such sudden decisions, without any calculations, lead to uncertainty and chaos, lead to Bulgaria's self-isolation in the European family, lead the country away from European principles and norms. They put under great threat a structurally defining company like Bulgartransgaz and we are obliged to protect it," Radev said.
